The Worldview of a Godly Man – What Are the Rewards?

On his 1977 album “The Stranger” recording artist, Billy Joel, sang “Only the Good Die Young”: 

                                         “Well, they showed you a statue, told you to pray 
                                             They built you a temple and locked you away 
                                           Aw, but they never told you the price that you pay 
                                                      For things that you might have done 
                                                                Only the good die young…” 

However, God promised the Psalmist in Psalm 1 that the godly person: 

“…is like a tree planted by streams of water Which yields its fruit in season And whose leaf does not wither – Whatever they do prospers…” (vs 3) 

As a matter of fact, verses 4-5 predicts the fate of the wicked: 

 “Not so the wicked! They are like chaff That the wind blows away Therefore, the wicked will not stand In the judgment,Nor sinners in the assemble of the righteous…” 

There you have it, men! Satan’s lies or God’s truth…which one are you going to believe and base your life upon? Remember, Satan promises much, but delivers nothing. God always delivers on His promises, to the righteous and the wicked! Psalm 1 ends with these promises to both:

 “For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”
