Radio preacher and longtime host of Songtime U.S.A., John DeBrine, use to ask folks, “What are you going to do about the fact that your goodness is going to keep you out of heaven?”

They looked with disdain at my dad’s old, Robin Egg Blue Chevy Opal wagon, then with equal disdain they looked us up and down before they answered flatly “No, it’s not!”

Before the seasons started to run together, it used to be that there was a time for certain sports. In the spring it was time for baseball after basketball ended. Fall was time for football after baseball played its World Series, and hockey was played in the winter.

My brother-in-law used to call the movie theatre “the world’s church,” and I agree. When you think about it, a lot of people get their philosophy on life from the latest film. 

 A man at war within himself cannot lead from a heart at peace. This battle must be won by surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ!

Friend, may I tell you that if you haven’t consciously and intentionally made peace with God, then you are at war with Him whether you feel it or not.
