Because He Came I Can Face Tomorrow
If the title of this article sounds a little familiar it’s because I borrowed the concept from the old Gaither song “Because He Lives”. The chorus goes like this…
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, All fear is gone
Because I know, He holds the future
And I can face uncertain days
Because He lives.
As you noticed I tweaked the lyrics a bit to fit the recent Christmas celebration for it is because He came, lived, died for our sins and rose again for our salvation that we can face uncertain days. Just imagine if Jesus had never been born! There would be no hope for us. We would live our lives in misery, die without God and go to hell with the rest of the fallen angels. But Jesus DID come! And He DOES live! Praise God!
If the past year has taught us anything, it has made us keenly aware that life is uncertain. But sit back and absorb the words of our Savior in John 15:33 in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
There it is, men! The last word on the subject of trouble – “…I have overcome the world.” Remember, these words were spoken by the One who overcame death and the grave! Are the troubles we face any harder than that?
Listen to the Apostle Paul in the last part of his letter to the Romans in chapter 8 – “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So, as we look ahead to 2021 and a new year of challenges, let’s remember that “Because He came…and lives!” We can face tomorrow.
