Deliverance – Part 2

Last week we examined the various occultic practices and secret societies that can
put a soul in bondage to Satan. This week we will look at steps to deliverance
from the bondage in which these choices have put a soul. Make no mistake! You
may have done some of these things not knowing all about them but Satan takes
it very seriously and if you have given yourself to any of these practices, or even
dabbled in them innocently, you have put yourself in great danger!
The first thing you must remember is DO NOT attempt to free yourself! You must
enlist the help of some experienced believers who know how to deal with this.
Notice I said “believers” plural. If someone promises to deliver you by themselves,
DO NOT let them get involved! I knew someone who once was offered
deliverance ministry for a fee! Do not fall for that either. A reputable person will
not charge you money!
Satan is real. But he is NOT all powerful. He is a being created by God Almighty
and is subject to Him! But the devil is not afraid of us in and of ourselves. He only
trembles when we operate under the blood of Christ filled with the Holy Spirit
and in concert with one another.
What you CAN do is start to pray and fast. But do this with a few trusted believers
who walk in the Spirit and take your situation seriously. This is no place for casual
Jesus fans who walk in the flesh.
But before you enlist others to help you, YOU must take your situation seriously.
If you have been involved in the occult, you are in great danger. Even if you “only”
dabbled in horoscopes and tarot cards, you have let the forces of evil into your
life and they won’t leave unless they are forced.
But there is much hope! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, said that “All authority in
heaven and earth has been given to me…” Jesus has authority over every being in
the universe, that includes Satan and his minions. Turn to Christ with all your
heart and trust Him. Do not lean on your own understanding. Believe the Word of
God! He will make a way where there seems to be no way!
