Hope for the Depressed – Part 3 – By Mike D. Whitney
(January 27, 2025)
As we finish our study of depression this week, I would like to emphasize some Scriptures that helped me when the LORD led me through my “dark night of the soul.”
The first is Philippians 1:6, “…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” My friend, God the Father began the good work of faith in you, and He will complete that work because of His faithfulness!”
John 6:37 says, “All the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” Mother, father, teenager, young person, if you have come to Jesus to ask for forgiveness of your sins and placed your faith in His work on the cross for you, He promised that He has accepted you! The deal is done! You are His forever!
There are many other verses I could share, and I encourage you to ask God to give you a “Word from Him” daily about His unfailing love for you and acceptance of you. He will do it, you know! But the last passage I want to share with you is in Isaiah 41:9,10,13 “…I said, ‘You are my servant: I have chosen you and not rejected you. So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.”
