How Does a Young Man Cleanse His Way?
(September 15, 2025)
Do you remember the newspaper column, “Hints from Heloise?” Readers checked
in daily to discover tips on how to do everything from learn new ways to cook
familiar foods to how to remove stubborn stains from clothes. Speaking of
removing stubborn stains, while it is important, to a degree, to remove stains
from expensive clothes, it is even more critical to know how to remove the stain
of sin from our hearts and lives.
If you feel dirty inside. If you are feeling the weight of your sin against a holy God,
and if that weight is still there after you have tried your hardest to “be good,”
then it is time for you to hear the “Good News!” Here it is…
Your sins have all been paid for by God’s one and only Son, Jesus Christ, when He
died on the cross over 2,000 years ago. All you must do is repent of your sins, that
means change your mind and be willing to turn away from them. Then believe
that Jesus is the Son of God and has been raised from the dead, and you will be
saved. You will be forgiven all your sins, past, present and future, and you will
become a child of God.
THEN, Jesus will come live in your life by His Holy Spirit and give you the power to
overcome sin and live a new life. He will give you all you need to obey His word.
Psalm 119:9 says, “How will a young man cleanse his way, by living according to
your word.” You will find yourself wanting to keep yourself pure for Jesus’ sake.
You will love God for all He has forgiven you and want to please Him. You will love
Jesus because He took the punishment that you deserved.
Aren’t you tired of living life your own way, by your own rules? Is there any
reason why you wouldn’t turn to Jesus Christ right now and ask Him to forgive
you of all your sins, turn away from them, and make Him the ruler of your life? He
will save you from the bondage to sin that you are in and make you a new person.
