It's Always Time
Before the seasons started to run together, it used to be that there was a time for certain sports. In the spring it was time for baseball after basketball ended. Fall was time for football after baseball played its World Series, and hockey was played in the winter.
Now, however, hockey drags on long after Spring Training concludes, and the Regular Season begins. It seems strange indeed to switch channels in the middle of June from a major league baseball game to an NBA playoff game.
There is one thing, though, that is always in season – it is always time to seek the LORD God! To put it another way, it’s never too late to repent of your sins and turn to Christ. As long as you have breath in your lungs, you can turn to Jesus if you will.
Isaiah 49:8 states, “…in the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you…”. Again, in 2 Corinthians 6:2 we read, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the time of salvation.”
Friend, do you think that it is too late for you to be saved? Do you think you cannot come to Christ? I tell you on the authority of God’s word that if you sense His pull in your heart, if you want to seek God, you will find Him! Jesus said in John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
Don’t listen to the lie that you’re too far gone to come to Christ, or you have to clean up your life first. God invites you to come to Jesus just as you are, spiritual “warts” and all, so to speak. He will forgive your sins, make you His forever child, and start to change you from the inside out.
There is no time to waste! Because it is always time to seek the LORD!
