Lead from a Heart at Peace
Men, are you at peace with God?
“What do you mean, you may say? I don’t have anything against God, per se, I just don’t think about Him much.”
Friend, may I tell you that if you haven’t consciously and intentionally made peace with God, then you are at war with Him whether you feel it or not. We outlined in our previous article how to make peace with God; I hope you will take time to read it.
Now peace with God is the starting point, but it doesn’t end there. What many men don’t realize is that if there is war in our heart against another person, our perceptions are distorted, and we will almost assuredly make poor decisions. That is why the Bible says “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…”
Hebrews 12:15 warns us, “See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” You see, you can’t be bitter and angry with someone and not have it affect your other relationships. If you have bitterness and unforgiveness against someone, please read Matthew 18:15-20 then do what the Lord says about it. Make it right and watch Him give you peace and help you in all your other relationships. By the way, don’t forget to ask Jesus for His help in all this. He is faithful!
When you lead from a heart at peace, you can be confident the God will give you insight into how to do that and the strength and courage to carry it out. There is no other way. Why continue to struggle against the tide? I encourage you to go to your Savior right now and take this up with Him. He said through the Apostle James in chapter one verse 5 that “if anyone lack wisdom, He should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given him.”
Everything you need is waiting for you in Christ. Just ask!
