Lead from a Heart at Peace Part 3
How does a man lead his wife and children wisely? The answer is to lead from a heart that is at peace – at peace with God, first, then at peace with others, and finally, as we will discover in this article, at peace within himself.
Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…” We must be right with God to lead wisely. We must also be right with others to lead wisely, 1 John 2:9-10 “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.”
A man at war within himself cannot lead from a heart at peace. This battle must be won by surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ! James 1:8 says “…a double-minded man is unstable in all he does.” And Romans 7:21 “…when I want to do good, evil is right there with me…Who will rescue me from this body of death?”
Elijah asked the people of Israel in 1 Kings 18:21 “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” Sadly, that verse continues “…but the people said nothing.”
Friend, is this you? I urge you to choose life! You know in your heart that Christ is the only way. What is keeping you from choosing Him? Why not end the war right now and lay down your sword? Give yourself completely to the Lord Jesus Christ!
To not decide is to decide against Him. Jesus said in Matthew 12:30 “He who is not with me is against me…” Let me leave you with these words from the song “The Savior is Waiting” by Ralph Carmichael…
If you take one step toward the Savior, my friend
You’ll find His arms open wide.
Believe Him and all of your darkness will end,
Within your heart He’ll abide.
