Today, three of us were planning to travel to Africa to visit and minister in four different countries: Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and Uganda. One of our prayer requests (below) was for all the details of this trip, especially Baraka’s paperwork from US Customs and Immigration. I am sorry to say that we do not have permission yet for Baraka to go and come back. We have communicated through the highest levels of our government, and it looks like it will not come in time. We considered going without him but feel that his presence with us is strategic to the success of the trip. So, we have postponed our trip until spring 2026. In the meantime, we plan to do some remote ministry through zoom or WhatsApp to Kenya, Malawi and Uganda. This will actually give us more contact with the leaders on the ground and will hopefully provide greater impact once we arrive with table leaders who have already been through the Bible Studies and Workshops on Evangelism, Discipleship, Leadership, Marriage and Worship. We have been comforted by how the Holy Spirit led Paul and his team in Acts 16:4-10. It says that the Holy Spirit forbid them to go to Asia (minor in present day Turkey) to the south of where they were and Bithynia to the north, but they concluded that God was calling them west to Macedonia based on a dream that Paul had. Reading through the next couple of chapters of Acts, we see that they went to Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens and then Corinth. In Corinth, Paul met a couple named, Priscilla and Aquilla. He lived with them for a year and a half. They made tents together and became ministry partners with him. When he left Corinth, he brought them with him to Ephesus which is in Asia (minor). He dropped them off and returned on his third missionary journey, when he stayed there for two full years. As a result “All the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.” Acts 19:10bPaul was not able to go to Asia at first, but not forever. God had something better in mind. Something that would lead to even greater impact. This is what we are hoping and praying for our visit to Africa. Please continue to pray for us and if the Lord leads you, to support us using the donate button above. |
