Satan’s Favorite Lies – Part 1

Most of us hate being lied to. Then why is it that we so readily accept the lies of
Satan that he whispers to us through the media, entertainment industry, best-
selling books and false teachers? These ideas and philosophies are opposed to the
Word of God, yet somehow we try to work them into our worldview as if they had
some value. They do not! Let’s examine some of these lies and compare them to
God’s Word.
The popular phrase “follow your heart” is a lie from the pit of hell, yet millions of
people live by it and shipwreck their lives in the process. God says in Jeremiah
17:9 that, “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked…”
Friend, you and I dare not trust our hearts to guide us into God’s way. Prov. 14:12
says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death.”
The Psalmist said in Ps. 119:105, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my
path.” The only thing we can trust to guide us correctly is God’s Word, the Bible!
Another lie Satan loves is found in the song “Stairway to Heaven” by the rock
group Led Zeppelin. It says “Yes, there are two paths you can go by but in the long
run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.” Friend, it is true there are two
paths to live, one leads to God and the other leads to death and hell. But it is a lie
that there is “still time to change the road you’re on.” The truth is you do not
know when you will draw your last breath and lose all hope of changing your
eternal destiny. The time of salvation is NOW!
If you are feeling a tug in your heart right now, then don’t ignore the Holy Spirit of
God. He is speaking to you confirming that you are hearing the truth. It is written
in Hebrews 9:27 that “it is appointed to a man to die once then comes the
Judgment.” In other words, there is no second chance after this life. God is giving
you a chance to believe on Jesus Christ as your Savior right now. You may never
get another opportunity.
Jesus Christ is waiting for your answer to Him. Will you believe in me?
