Some Battles Are the LORD's
Back in the 90’s when I was working at a radio station in Portland there was an employee who, unbeknownst to me, was lying about me to my employer trying to get me fired. Eventually I found out and instead of calling the main office in Boston and arguing my case, the Lord said, “wait on me and I will take care of it.” Well, I waited, and He did! The Lord brought me client after client that I sold airtime to, and while my enemy was telling the owner that I was ruining the station, I was sending down thousands of dollars’worth of contracts selling airtime for the station. The troublemaker quit in a huff one day as I was preparing to do an interview with a Christian leader for a program I had sold. God fought that battle for me!
Are you embroiled in a battle right now? Does it seem you are outnumbered and out gunned? Maybe God is saying to you, “You don’t have to fight this one, I will fight for you.” If He is, then trust Him! He is able.
In 2 Chronicles 20 King Hezekiah faced an overwhelming enemy as an army of three nations come against Israel. The first thing this godly king did was pray, ending his prayer with “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (Verse 12).
And what was God’s response? The Spirit of God came upon Jahaziel who told the king, “This is what the LORD says to you: ‘do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours but God’s…” (Verse 15). In an amazing turn of events, the LORD caused Israel’s enemies to fight each other in confusion until they were all annihilated. God fought the battle. God won the victory. God got the glory!
Friend, He can do the same for you! He is the unchanging, eternal, and awesome God. Nothing is too hard for Him. In fact, nothing is even hard for Him. All things are easy for our God who flung the universe into existence. Commit your situation to the God who loves you enough to send His Son to give His life for you. He will help you! He will see you through! Trust Him!
