Demon Faith vs. Saving Faith
(June 15, 2026)
Did you know that there is a kind of faith that will take you to hell? That’s right,
my friend. It is the faith of demons. No creature understands who Jesus Christ is
any better than the followers of Satan, the chief of demons. They believe that He
is the Son of God, that He worked miracles, that He died on the cross to pay for
the sins of the world, yet they are headed to hell for all eternity.
James 2:19 says, “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even demons
believe – and tremble!” Then James goes on to say, “But do you want to know, O
foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” What he is saying here is that if
you know and believe that there is a God but refuse to surrender to Him in
humility and believe on His Son, Jesus Christ, your faith is no better than the
demons, who tremble because of what they know but will not obey.
In John 6:28-29, the Jews asked Jesus “What must we do to do the works God
requires?” Jesus replied, “The work of God is this, to believe in the one He has
sent” [Jesus Christ His Son]. Friend, if you say that you believe in God, but not in
His Son, you are calling God a liar and your “faith” is not of the saving kind – it will
not take you to heaven!
1 John 2:21-23 says, “I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but
because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar?
It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist –
denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father,
whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”
The kind that saves one from sin and hell is the kind that acknowledges Jesus is
the Christ, the Son of God, crucified, risen and coming again. There is no other
kind that saves. This kind of faith compels a person to live as Jesus did and exhibit
the fruit of the Holy Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 – love, joy, peace,
forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
So, what kind of faith do you have?
